P2

P2: analyse the weekday and/or weekend breakfast shows on Radio Cambridgeshire explore:

a) running order

  • Record a 10 minute section of the Radio Cambridgeshire breakfast programme between 7.55-8.15am - include the 'top of the hour'.
  • Import it into Adobe Premiere.
  • Create a detailed timeline breakdown of the content - label all the content with a graphic colour matt - and use broadcast terminology you have learnt and state whether the content is live or pre recorded/programmed. (Transfer this data into a running order grid to put on your blog.)

b) DJs/presenters
Label your premiere timeline to illustrate the role of DJs/presenters.  Use the premiere titling tool and motion paths to animate your titles.

  • How is the presenter described on the stations website?
  • Do they live up to the description?
  • What is their presenting style (formal/ informal/friendly/hypa/relaxed/antagonistic)?
  • What attributes do you think they have been chosen for?
  • How do they meet the needs of the stations target audience?

c) content
Create a pie chart to show the breakdown of content in the section of the show. Using graphics in premiere analyse how each part of the show is targeted to generate an  audience response. Export and upload your video analysis to this section.

d) target audience
Write a summary paragraph explaining how the shows content is suitable for the target audience.
